Isn't that what they say?Candacehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11490114576454814927noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2044509344815092448.post-47618094410148321882009-05-18T05:28:00.000-07:002009-05-18T05:28:00.000-07:00Blue Island proves to be an inspiration to a natio...Blue Island proves to be an inspiration to a national book award writer:
http://online.wsj.com/article/SB124174279188199027.htmlTOChttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07883181011834305831noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2044509344815092448.post-70623803686352745612009-03-04T08:27:00.003-08:002009-03-04T08:27:00.003-08:00I just found your site & have to post a note:I...I just found your site & have to post a note:

I grew up in Blue Island, lived there from about 1967-68 through 1980 - I consider it my 'home town'. Over the yrs, I have on occasion gone back to 'memory lane' and visited the old haunts. This past weekend, in fact, I took your advice & stopped at a local business & spent $10, even though it is about a 70 mile round trip.

I can't get over how much the main street & the city has gone 'downhill' in just a few yrs. The empty store fronts, the torn down bldgs, the poorly maintained houses. Shocked, I was.

I hope one day Blue Island can recover.TOKhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05842494597743484330noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2044509344815092448.post-21120752532586394962008-11-30T10:37:00.000-08:002008-11-30T10:37:00.000-08:00Hi Ian! There are a lot of businesses that will be missed by a lot of people, as you can see in my latest post. I only hope that this city can turn itself around.Candacehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11490114576454814927noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2044509344815092448.post-16204855094299622232008-10-12T10:26:00.000-07:002008-10-12T10:26:00.000-07:00I loved An Seanachai and I'm pretty bummed I won't...I loved An Seanachai and I'm pretty bummed I won't be able to go there on subsequent visits to Blue Island.Dead Rock n Rollerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16209405318437579322noreply@blogger.com
